Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser in Cheongdam, Apgujeong, Gangnam Seoul Targeted Treatment for Spots and Deep Pigment

A session takes about 10–20 minutes; treated spots form small crusts for about 7–10 days, and pigment fades over 4–8 weeks. Spot count and area set the price at consultation. Quick answer
What Is a Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser?
A Q-switched Nd:YAG laser is a pigment laser that releases very high-energy pulses lasting a few nanoseconds. Melanin absorbs the energy so fast that pigment particles shatter, and the body's immune cells then clear them away.
The laser offers two wavelengths. 532 nm (green light) is absorbed near the surface and suits freckles and sun spots (solar lentigines). 1064 nm reaches deeper into the dermis and is used for dermal pigment such as Hori's nevus (ABNOM) and nevus of Ota, which usually need a longer course of sessions.
The same 1064 nm laser at low energy is the basis of Laser Toning for melasma. Spot treatment and toning are very different settings, so the doctor diagnoses your pigment first.

Q-Switched Nd:YAG vs Picosecond Laser
Both shatter pigment with ultra-short pulses. The main difference is pulse length.
| Feature | Q-Switched Nd:YAG | Picosecond Laser |
|---|---|---|
| Pulse length | Nanoseconds | Picoseconds (about 1,000 times shorter) |
| Main effect | Photothermal and photoacoustic | Mainly photoacoustic, less heat |
| Track record | Long-established for pigment | Newer; may clear some pigment in fewer sessions |
| Downtime for spots | Crusts for about 7–10 days | Similar, often slightly milder |
Is it right for you?
Who Is the Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser Right For?
Adults with distinct brown spots or deeper bluish-grey pigment who can protect their skin from the sun during healing.
Q-switched laser is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, on tanned skin, over active infection, or with photosensitising medicines. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is common in Asian and darker skin for several weeks after spot treatment, particularly with 532 nm. Any irregular or changing mole must be assessed by a doctor and is not treated with a pigment laser.
- Freckles on the nose and cheeks
- Sun spots (solar lentigines)
- Bluish-grey patches on the cheekbones (Hori's nevus)
- Nevus of Ota (assessed by the doctor)
- Visitors staying at least a week, or returning for a series

FAQ
Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser in Seoul – Frequently Asked Questions
How much is Q-switched Nd:YAG laser in Gangnam, Seoul?
At Doje Clinic, the cost of Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser depends on the areas treated and the bespoke plan designed at your 1:1 consultation with Dr. Byun Je-ik, so prices are confirmed after the doctor's assessment. Message us on WhatsApp for an initial guide.
What does a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser treat?
A Q-switched Nd:YAG laser treats freckles, sun spots and deeper dermal pigment such as Hori's nevus and nevus of Ota. At low energy it is also used for laser toning of melasma.
Does Q-switched laser hurt?
Q-switched laser feels like a sharp snap, similar to a rubber band. Numbing cream can be applied first for comfort.
How many sessions do I need?
Freckles and sun spots often need 1–3 Q-switched laser sessions. Deeper pigment such as Hori's nevus usually needs 5–10 sessions spaced several weeks apart.
Can Q-switched laser make spots darker?
Temporary darkening called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation can appear a few weeks after treatment, especially in Asian or darker skin. It usually fades over weeks to months with sun protection.
Q-switched vs pico laser – which is better?
Both are effective for pigment. Picosecond lasers use shorter pulses with less heat and may need fewer sessions for some pigment, while Q-switched Nd:YAG has a longer track record. The doctor in Gangnam recommends one based on your pigment type.
