Quick answer

What Causes Rosacea?

Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition of the central face that causes flushing, persistent redness, visible blood vessels and sometimes acne-like bumps. Its exact cause is not fully understood, but blood-vessel reactivity, immune factors, Demodex mites and genetics are thought to play a role.

Rosacea commonly flares with heat, sun, alcohol, spicy food, stress and harsh skin care. Subtypes include redness-dominant (erythematotelangiectatic) and bump-dominant (papulopustular) rosacea; some people also have eye irritation.

Rosacea cannot be cured, but it can be well controlled. Bumpy or inflamed rosacea may need prescription topical or oral treatment first, so a dermatologist-level diagnosis comes before any laser. See redness for non-rosacea causes of a red face.

FAQ

Rosacea in Seoul – Frequently Asked Questions

How much is rosacea treatment in Seoul?

At Doje Clinic in Gangnam, rosacea treatment is priced after the doctor confirms the subtype and decides on laser or medical care. Listed treatment prices are available on the clinic's price page.

Can rosacea be cured?

Rosacea cannot currently be cured, but it can be well controlled. Combining trigger management, medical care and vascular laser often reduces redness and flare frequency.

Does laser work for rosacea?

Vascular lasers such as V Beam and Excel V are commonly used to reduce rosacea redness and visible vessels. Bumps and pustules usually respond better to prescription treatment.

How many laser sessions does rosacea need?

Most people need three to five vascular laser sessions about four weeks apart, followed by occasional maintenance as rosacea is a long-term condition.

Can I start rosacea treatment on a trip to Seoul?

Yes. A consultation and first laser session can fit a short trip to Seoul, with home care continued afterward. Follow-up questions can be sent on WhatsApp.

Is rosacea the same as acne?

No. Rosacea can cause acne-like bumps, but it does not cause blackheads and is driven by vascular and inflammatory factors. Acne products can sometimes irritate rosacea.

Do the doctors speak English?

Yes. English consultations are available at Doje Clinic, with LINE & KakaoTalk booking. Message +82 10-6535-2110 on WhatsApp.
